Trial By Jury And A Matter Of Misconduct Streaming Worldwide On Operavision

August 27, 2025  London, UK   The D'Oyly Carte Opera Company is delighted to announce that Trial by Jury and A Matter of Misconduct!, presented in partnership with Scottish Opera and Opera Holland Park, are now available to stream globally at no cost on OperaVision at https://operavision.eu/performance/trial-jury.

In this, the Company's 150th anniversary year, this brand new production of Gilbert & Sullivan's Trial by Jury is paired with the world premiere of A Matter of Misconduct!, a new commission by composer Toby Hession and librettist Emma Jenkins.

Trial by Jury opened in 1875 at the Royalty Theatre in London's Soho, marking the first major collaboration between W.S. Gilbert, Arthur Sullivan, and Richard D'Oyly Carte. This 150th anniversary celebration production opened in Glasgow and toured to Edinburgh, Aberdeen, and Inverness before being filmed at Festival Theatre, Edinburgh. The company then brought the double bill to London for performances at Opera Holland Park alongside The Merry Widow.
